Mindfulness Meditation &
​Wisdom Healing Qigong

What is Mindfulness Meditation?

Meditation used in a secular way is a training of the mind. Meditation practice improves wellbeing, quiets the mind and enhances empathic listening.

There are three common forms of meditation techniques:

Concentrative or Focused attention meditation:
This technique involves directing one's attention on a single object such as the breath, repeating a mantra or looking at the flame of a candle while all other external stimuli are tuned out. This technique is used to induce a state of calm, peacefulness and strengthen the sense of internal focus of control.

Mindfulness, Open awareness meditation:
This technique involves paying attention purposefully to any stimulations such as thought, emotions, perceptions and physical sensations that present to one's consciousness and observe what is in a non-judgmental manner, moment to moment. The practice of intentionally attending to one's experience with a  non-judgmental attitude triggers a shift in perspective, which increases tolerance to distress and uncertainty when dealing with anxiety provoking situations.


Compassion or Giving and Receiving meditation (Tonglen):
This technique involves using the breath to send compassion to someone in distress. It helps to counteract compassion fatigue and is a deep source of inspiration.


What is Qigong?
Qigong (chee-gung) is a form of mindful movement / moving meditation practiced to promote health and well-being.

What is Wisdom Healing Qigong? (Zhineng Qigong)
